A lithium battery cathode material factory in Jiangsu has an annual output of 50,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate. Iron impurities will cause battery self-discharge and cycle life attenuation, requiring raw material iron content ≤50ppb. Precursor powder contains weak magnetic iron oxides such as Fe₂O₃ and Fe₃O₄, which cannot be effectively removed by permanent magnetic equipment. Materials are easy to bridge and block common magnetic separators. Imported equipment is expensive with high maintenance costs.

The factory adopted HCT series dry powder electromagnetic separator with 10000Gs hollow magnetic field. The electromagnetic excitation design features adjustable magnetic strength, specially capturing fine weak magnetic iron impurities. Vibration and air dispersion design prevents material bridging and blocking, suitable for high-viscosity powder. Automatic pulse cleaning supports 24-hour continuous operation without manual intervention.

Installed after calcination and before packaging with processing capacity of 3t/h. After operation, raw material iron content is stably controlled at 20–35ppb with 100% compliance rate. The equipment runs continuously without blocking, with failure rate less than 0.5%. The payback period is only 8 months, saving more than 60% cost compared with imported equipment.
